Mike Hawryluk Knows O’Hare Industrial

So, what led you to industrial real estate, specifically?

I love to see how things are manufactured, assembled, and distributed. The entrepreneurial nature of corporate deal making together with

my personality and tireless work ethic made for a natural match.

How did you gain experience?

Outstanding partners. After spending 13 years at both boutique up to

one of the largest firms in the world, I had the opportunity to start the Midwest office for a global platform, yet smaller firm to build and grow an industrial team. This allowed me to continue to service existing and new industrial clients across local, regional and national markets.

How would you describe your market at this time?

In my 17 years of industrial real estate I have been through diverse economic markets, which helps all of us become smarter during various market conditions including now, which is healthy both locally and nationally. The Elk Grove / O’Hare and overall Chicago industrial submarkets, for example, are experiencing historical low vacancies in the low to mid-single digits, speculative and build to suit construction has increased at a healthy pace, and industrial inventory is seeing premium pricing on both a sale and lease basis at this time.
